Three and a half miles from Weymouth, in Dorset, is the charming and beautiful village of Upwey. It’s peaceful village of heritage and natural beauty, not least the Wey River which flows through the village, rising from a cold water spring which happens to be one of the largest in Britain.

It’s in Upwey that you’ll find Roosters Bed and Breakfast. Your hosts are Georgina and Paul Sutton, and they extend a warm welcome. Roosters benefits from a tranquil location in an attractive rural lane.

Roosters offers two individually appointed double bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower room, while the other has a seperate large private bathroom and shower. Expect a good night’s sleep on quality linens and all you need for a relaxing time away from home.

Breakfast is included in the rate, and you’ll have just the meal to set you up for a day’s sightseeing and adventure. There is a lot to do in and around Upwey, and your hosts will be able to supply information about what you might enjoy and how to go about getting there.

Those with an interest in history will want to visit Upwey’s 13th-century parish church, while you only have to catch a bus or train from Upwey to get to both Dorchester and Weymouth. In Upwey Roosters you’ll be able to enjoy walks along the Wey River.

For those looking for more dramatic waters, you’ll have easy access to the Jurassic coast via Weymouth. Weymouth also has a famously beautiful harbour and a much loved Blue-Flag beach.

For something tasty to eat, Roosters is close to The Old Ship Inn. Perhaps afternoon tea at Wishing Well Tea Rooms will be the ideal accompaniment to a day of gentle Dorset pleasures. A little bit further afield, you’ll have a wide range restaurants and good pubs.

Whether visiting for the natural beauty, the gentle pace of life or the many nearby castles and areas of historical interest, Roosters Bed and Breakfast offers superb accommodation and warm hospitality.
